Release Notes

TimePunch 5.9 is the latest update in the 5 series and brings numerous improvements that make everyday work with our time tracking software noticeably easier. In addition to greater stability and many closed tickets, we have also integrated several new features based on direct feedback from our customers.


New in the calendar – simplify your everyday life

Two small but effective enhancements make booking in the calendar more efficient:

FS#2021 – Automatically approve remote work requests

If working from home or mobile working does not require additional approval at your company, requests for remote work can now be approved automatically. This reduces unnecessary approvals and saves valuable time in everyday HR work.

FS#2023 – Sick leave for the current day without approval

If sick leave is recorded for the current working day, manual approval will no longer be required. The information is entered directly into the system – supervisors are automatically notified, of course. This rule applies exclusively to same-day notifications.


New in management – more control, less effort

We have also added two helpful functions in administration:

FS#2025 – Activity as a mandatory field

For selected projects, it is now possible to make the selection of an activity mandatory. This ensures that time entries are complete and correct, which is particularly advantageous for subsequent evaluation and project calculation.

FS#2024 – Onboarding – Absence activity

The onboarding project can now be freely selected and is used to automatically mark “non-working days” until the actual start of work.

FS#2022 - Onboarding – Freelancers

For freelance employees, absence days are no longer created at the start, as no flexitime account is kept for them.


Stability & quality – 28 bug fixes

With version 5.9, we have fixed a total of 28 bugs, further increasing the stability of the system.
